The department ofChemistry in Government Rewati Raman Mishra PG College, Surajpur wasestablished in the year 2010. The Department was started with B.Sc.(Bio& Math) Course and currently running with intake capacity of220students. M.Sc. in Chemistry (CBCS) has been introduced in thedepartment science 2017 and currently running with 30 intake capacities ofstudents. The main aim of the Chemistry department is to present the chemicalscience in simplest and innovative form so as to make it interesting andattractive to the students. However, to keep pace with present day demand interms of development in teaching methods and in quality education thedepartment is endeavoring its best to keep on upgrading infrastructurefacilities and academic program. Currently department has various analyticalinstrument facilities like double beam UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, digitalPolarimeter, Digital Refractmeter, Flame photometer and many other instrumentsat UG, PG and research level. The department of chemistry has alsowell-equipped research lab with adequate instrumental and chemical facilitiesto carry out research as the chemistry department has been recognized as the researchCentre by the affiliating university S.G.G.U. Ambikapur.
